Sick day cure: mango smoothie

Yesterday I woke up feeling yucky and decided to stay home from work.  After crawling back into bed for a couple more hours of sleep, I finally felt up to eating something.  I decided to create a mango smoothie to use up some of the amazing champagne mangoes we've been buying from Whole Foods like they're going out of style.  

I peeled and cut two mangoes and combined them with about 3/4 cup of almond milk, 1/2 tsp of organic vanilla extract, and 1 tsp of agave nectar. The result was so good, and I swear it healed me because today I feel almost 100%. Next time, I think I'll try it with coconut milk!

What's your favorite smoothie recipe? I'm on a smoothie kick and I need ideas!

i've been making green mango smoothies recently: spinach, frozen mango, frozen banana, honey (or agave), almond milk, some cinnamon & a little ground flax seed. totally yummy!

i live on smoothies during the summer...been making lots of green ones...mango and spinach. avocado. basically anything that is healthy that i have on hand at the time.

sounds delish! my go-to smoothie lately has been mango, banana, 1 cup skim milk. ooh how i love it!

I don't really do smoothies (but I feel like I should), I do love mangoes though! Last year, I lived in Far North Queensland (really tropical) and mangoes were everywhere. People at work would bring in baskets of mangoes for everyone to take home. I've never eaten so many. Now that I'm living in Victoria (southern Australia), we have to fork over a fortune for them. Sigh.

have you tried the cacao-chai smoothie from tranquility du jour a couple of months ago?
spinach, banana, almond milk, raw cacao powder, nutmeg/cinnamon/cardamom, agave...
so yummy!

My favourite smoothie at the moment is the cherry bomb.

Ice
Frozen cherries (or fresh)
1 banana
Big handful spinach
3 tablespoons chocolate powder
1 small tub fat free cherry yoghurt
Vanilla essence
Soy milk

SO good!!
